Ms. Margaret Dumser
“The ultimate goal of the Art of Karate is not in victory or defeat, but rather in the perfection of the character of its participants”
The Martial Arts has always held a certain attraction for me. The idea of being able to defend myself was always very appealing. If you are lucky, however, you soon discover that the Art is so much more than that. It is a path that can also lead you down the road to personal growth and awareness. It is about “empting your cup” so that it might be filled with new ways of seeing and doing things. It is about being able to control oneself so that you may control your enemy. I began my training at the Port Chester Dojo back in July of 2004. I was awarded my Shodan in May, 2009.
